NIC - Network Interface Card OR Wireless Adapter

This is the physical hardware to implement the network on the computer we're running on. Back in the day it was a card, but nowadays it's builtin. It's just interfacing the computer with tools to have external communications over a network.

This is also known as a wireless adapter.
