Played by Count Basie and His Orchestra. Rufus "Speedy" Jones plays the drums here:

Notes:

• Starts with Count Basie on piano first.
• Jones is kicking ass! But he is still playing lightly and giving contrast so the piano can be heard
• Another tenor solo by Eddie Davis (see also Jumpin' at the Woodside for more solos by him)
• The drum solo gives me Whiplash vibes!
• You hear why they call him Rufus "Speedy" Jones! Look at how fast he's killing the solo!
• "Do your hears hang low ..." comped by Count Basie on the piano during Rufus' solo
• Bringing back in the winds/brass section at a slower tempo to make rufus feel like he's hit maximum speed (the song's called Whirly Bird for nothing).
• You see the bowler hats for the trumpets. These are mutes that they may use.
