One O'Clock Jump

By Count Basie and His Orchestra. This is a riff, based jam:

Notes:

• You can hear some Boogie Woogie in the piano part. This makes sense as Count Basie is playing it.
• The Sax and Trombone are Trading 4's (ish, more like 4 phrases)
• Notice how much more improvisation there is, compared to Duke Ellington and His Orchestra which was more orchestrated ahead of time
• Jo Jones is playing with the wire brushes (or sticks really lightly)
• The saxes are playing background riffs (in this case simple triad arpeggios). Again more improvisation!
