Miles Davis

A trumpet player in the 40s, he is a popular player at Mintons playing in the Bebop (Bop) era.

He's much more of a cooler player. He realized he didn't have the same chops, so he started to use that style more often.

He was hired at Mintons because his style was much more cooler (unlike maybe other trumpet players of the time).

He was hugely inspired by Thelonius Monk, who he said "taught me more about music than anything". He noticed how he had to "read between the lines" when he was taught by Monk.
