Dizzy Gillespie
A trumpet player at Mintons, he was known in the Bebop (Bop) era for mixing both high intensity as well as sax-like virtuoso.
He was largely influenced by Charlie Parker, and played a lot with him. You can hear how much he has rapid, tonal changes in a single phrase (so a lot of things that apply to Bird apply to him).
He's unique in that he brought in Afro-Cuban influence (ex: the conga).
