This is the whole "slap, slap, slap, clap, clap, clap" (but without the clapping). Namely, the slave movement forced slaves to play music by slapping their bodies like a drum.
One thing is that if everyone (all the slaves) were playing the same rhythms, then no one of them could've been singled out for not working hard enough. They started to do this also via Call And Response.
